Trek to Upper Kanheri Caves
The C Wing of Ruchika Club, under the dynamic leadership of President Neha Jain, organised an unforgettable trekking expedition to the Upper Kanheri Caves at Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali.
The group assembled at the park’s main entrance at 7:30 AM, filled with excitement for a morning adventure amidst nature.
The trek provided a refreshing escape, with the cool, crisp air setting the perfect tone for a day of peace and rejuvenation. The participants were divided into three teams, each accompanied by a coach and a naturalist who enriched the experience by sharing fascinating insights about the flora, fauna, and wildlife along the trail.
For safety and seamless coordination, two committee members accompanied each team, and medical kits were kept on hand.
To keep everyone energised, participants were provided with snack boxes containing trek essentials and tasty treats.
The trail wound through lush greenery and serene surroundings, offering moments of tranquility and a chance to connect with nature.
The highlight of the trek was the visit to the 2nd-century Kanheri Caves, a marvel of ancient architecture that added an enriching historical dimension to the adventure. After approximately two hours of trekking, the group gathered at the canteen for refreshments.
The local delicacies were thoroughly enjoyed, providing a well-deserved and delicious end to the journey.
A bus transported the participants back to the starting point, where they departed with cherished memories, a sense of accomplishment, and the calming effects of a day spent amidst nature.
